If there is one predominate music club in Pittsburgh, it would be Mr. Smalls Fun House.  Although it’s located just outside of the city, it stands as one of the biggest-name drawing clubs in the area.  Bands like Tokyo Police Club, Ok Go, Mason Jennings and Snoop Dogg.

This was a church too, wasn't it?

            Once again, this club is a one-time church, repurposed as a live entertainment venue.  This time around however, it does a far better job.  “Smalls” as it’s referred to, holds around 650 people, and does feature frequent all age’s shoes.  To accompany them, Smalls features not one, but two bars to handle the Over 21 engagements.  On top of that, it boasts a VIP section as well, including a balcony off of the back of the venue.  With a sizeable stage and fully equipped sound system, the shows it produces are more than worth the price of admission.

            

Don’t be mistaken however.  Despite Smalls ability to pull in national acts, it also does its part to let local acts perform.

            “I’ve been there multiple times,” said junior and Pittsburgh native Harrison Kinzler, “a few to see my friend’s band.  It’s a really nice place.”

            Mr. Smalls goes even further to facilitate the Pittsburgh music scene, offering two recording studios, where they can tape their live shows.
